Kingfisher Crafts

Dear Crafters,

Just a note to tell you what is happening in the parchment craft world, and of a few new products available on our web site.

Firstly there are a number of shows that we are going to this year, -

•  the first one being at the Show Ground in Harrogate , on Saturday 17 th M ay, from 10am – 4pm. T his is a dedicated parchment craft show, and will feature many crafters demonstrating their skills, along with some wonderful work, and of course lovely things to buy! E mail J osie for any further information josied@talktalk.net

•  The next show is the H obbycrafts show in E xeter at W est P oint , from 25 th – 28 th S eptember. T his will be the first time that we have had a stand at E xeter , so do come and see us.

•  Sunday 2 nd N ovember, is the 8th annual Paper Crafts E xtravaganza Ringwood show. This is the show that I organise with Graham Hansford ( M r. Stamp it) and has been going from strength to strength each year. W e try to have different things on show each year, but there is always a large parchment craft presence, along with other craft traders who are demonstrating all sorts of card making, scrapbooking, decoupage and parchment craft items. Parchment crafters – Christine Coleman and Judith Maslen are booked in along with Linda from LB crafts (fantastic rubber stamping), simply stamps and many other companies. It is at the Ringwood Recreation Centre, from 10am to 4pm and costs £3 entry. (no advanced tickets on sale, just turn up!) We also support breast cancer charities, and raised about £900 last year. So do come and give your support.

•  Saturday 8th November – Parchment exhibition at Plymouth Guildhall, which is a central location, near the shopping centre. Tickets on sale for £5 from P at M urphy – email pat.murphy1947@hotmail.co.uk

•  13 th – 16th November, Hobbycrafts show at the N E C Birmingham. W e have attended this show for about 3 years now, and have met lots of you there, so do come along again.

I have also put all the new dates for next years P archment Craft weekends and Holidays on the site - http://www.kingfishercrafts.co.uk/parchmentholidays.htm

These are always great fun, and are suitable for all levels of ability from almost beginners to advanced (total beginners are encouraged to try parchment craft before coming on a course). W e always have a project to complete, which usually involves lots of different techniques. T his years Bournemouth project was a ship and seemed to be very popular. I plan to have the pattern available in a years time ( W e like to keep the pattern special for a while for those attending the course). I am working on the patterns for the shop window and owl, so will email when these become available. I am planning to have them in time for the Harrogate show.

T he new products we have are –

Pin lair glue gel . T his is a brilliant alternative to silicon glue. It behaves exactly the same as silicon, but doesn't smell, or dry in the tube, and is really strong. It comes with a syringe so that you can place the glue more accurately and it guarantees not to dry up in the syringe for at least 4 weeks. E xtra very small syringes are also available for £2.25.

Glitters - T his set of 10 ultra fine glitters in shaker pots, are really good value at £9.95 for all 10 pots. T hey work really well with the pin flair glue, especially if you are good at cake icing and can use the syringe to write messages then sprinkle glitter onto them!

Zest it – H as been repackaged into 50ml pots that shouldn't allow any evaporation of the liquid! It is fabulous for blending oil pastels and blendable pencils – also for cleaning brushes!

Pergamano books – 2 N ew books called Pretty Parchment Creations, and Love and Roses have been added. There are some lovely designs in these.

Pergamano Grids – 2 new pattern grids - each multi grid contains a unique design which will help you to create several motifs. E nclosed in the package you will find a number of patterns that will show you, in a simple manner, how you can apply the grids on your own creations. You will be able to make the most beautiful borders or you can fill up some blank areas with the perforation/embossing pattern. The multi-grids are made of high-quality stainless steel and are available in A 5 size.
